This is a tool aimed at specific phobias with cognitive behavioral therapy and exposure therapy approach. It contains exercises, tasks and information commonly used in outpatient treatment courses. The tool has a separate section aimed at blood / injection phobia due to some special considerations in this type of phobia. It can be used for all phobias - but we have our own tools that are aimed at social phobia and panic attacks with agoraphobia that may be more suitable for these.
Afraid of spiders, blood, flying or snakes? This tool will help you create your own exercise program to make you feel a little better.
This tool gives you knowledge and practical strategies to understand and work with phobias through exposure. It consists of six parts:
You learn what phobias are, how avoidance maintains fear, and how to get started with small, structured steps.
You identify your own phobia, learn how phobias are treated, and watch a video on exposure before planning your own practice.
You build your first exposure plan, create an exposure hierarchy, and learn how to handle specific challenges such as blood phobia.
You begin exposure exercises step by step, follow your plan, and practice staying motivated even when fear feels strong.
You prepare for common obstacles like feeling overwhelmed, lack of time, or missing support, and learn how to overcome them.
You summarize your learning, prepare for setbacks, and make a plan to maintain progress and prevent relapse over time.
